Call of Duty Warzone Teases Addition Of Classic Zombies Character

Activision has teased the fact that some classic characters from Call of Duty's zombies mode could make an appearance in Warzone in the future.

Popular characters from the Zombies mode in the Call of Duty: Black Ops series could be added to Call of Duty: Warzone in the future, as Activision has teased the inclusion of fan-favorite Nikolai Belinski. The battle royale game has become one of the most popular modes in Call of Duty and is now considered a standalone product rather than simply a game mode within Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Activision has already revealed that Call of Duty: Warzone will share content between Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War. The publisher wants to keep the popular battle royale mode updated with fresh content from both games rather than replace it with a brand-new experience. That means that fans will likely see more additions from the Black Ops series in the future, with possible alternative maps included alongside extra weapons, characters, and items.

In anticipation of the sixth season of Call of Duty: Warzone, Activision has released a new blog post detailing some of the new inclusions in the update. This article also contains a header image that appears to tease the fact that a classic character from the series could be returning. One of the figures shown closely resembles Nikolai Belinski from Treyarch's Zombies mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops III. Although only the back of the character can be seen, the outfit looks identical to what the character wears in the earlier game. This includes his distinctive body armor and signature tanker hat and goggles. Fans are now speculating that Activision could add a selection of classic characters from the various Zombies campaigns.

The fact that Activision continues to update Call of Duty: Warzone with new content is no surprise. The publisher recently revealed that the battle royale mode and Modern Warfare have made almost $500 million in just three months from microtransactions. That makes it a hugely lucrative product for Activision and an attractive prospect to update rather than replace it with a completely new battle royale game.

With Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War just a few weeks away, it makes sense for Activision to include characters from the series in Call of Duty: Warzone . That way it can incorporate some of the content from the spin-off series before the release of the new game but also not spoil any of the story details from the title. Nikolai Belinski would also be a sensible first choice as he is such a distinctive character and one of the most popular among fans.
